What food to eat with your favourite beer & how to cook it - Nigel Barden

BBC Food & Drink presenter Nigel Barden will choose a selection of bottle and can beer from SIBA's national beer competition and match them with different foods. Nigel will also demonstrate how to cook with beer on the Bar Arena stage. Wine is not the only drink to go with food, if anything, the thousands of different British beers from independent craft brewers offer even more choice!

Tutored Tasting of SIBA Champion Beers - Alex Barlow

Tutored tasting of SIBA Champion Beers:
Master Brewer and the Beer Academy's Chief Sommelier Examiner, Alex Barlow guides you through a tutored tasting of five very different champion beers, as judged by regional panels and the national final, this week at BeerX. Covering a range of styles, colours and formats each beer is well worth talking about.

Alex will use each of the beers to help illustrate the alchemy of brewing: blending natural ingredients together using the brewers art, science and a little bit of magic to create a stunning flavour experience and a picture of the enormous variety available in the world of beer today.

Alex Barlow
Alex's passion for beer started with his first job at his local pub. A qualified Master Brewer, he's a brewing consultant, presenter, sommelier and beer judge. Alex is Director of Training for the Beer Academy, and author of the award-winning ALL BEER Guide. He opened Sentinel Brewing Co. in 2016.
