Geipel Brewing - Golden Gate

Golden Gate is a 'California Common' style beer: a hybrid that uses lager (bottom-fermenting) yeast but is fermented at higher ale temperatures. This style is often called “steam beer”, a name which has been trademarked by the San Francisco company that brewed the best known example: Anchor Brewing. The yeast, caramel malt and assertive American hops give it a unique flavour that many credit with launching the American craft beer revolution.
